Introduction to Tool Sharpening

Posted 08/1/14

Wednesday, 9/17, 6:00-9:00 pm

$75 (no cost for students enrolled in Joinery I and/or Joinery II)

In this 3-hour long workshop, I will show participants how to sharpen and maintain edge tools, such as chisels and hand planes. Using both bench grinders and oil and water stones, participants will achieve the kind of tool edges required to make successful pieces of handmade furniture. This class is a prerequisite and included in the tuition fees for both Joinery I and Joinery II. However, this class is available to all other students.

Note: make sure you bring your own chisels, hand planes, and any other edge tools you wish to sharpen.
